Keen audits failed to recognize the presence of the male, but the Gypsy's sharp sense of smell alerted her that they weren't alone. The scent was confusing, was it canine or equine? Condensation trumpeted from paper-thin nostrils, she shifted her weight restlessly and pinned tufted thorns tightly to her skull. Haven, the poor dear, was at a loss and took to shivering uncontrollably again. Her senses weren't quite as sharp as her dam's, the scent wafting on the breeze was unfamiliar but didn't set alarms off. Watery orbs flashed between the patchwork's jezebel's scarred visage and the bay (?) mare. Should she run? Hide? Cry? Poor baby, no one to comfort her or tell her that her draft mama could stomp just about any meat-eating predator that came their way. Certainly not the aforementioned mama. Sati was in no way inclined to be motherly to the alabaster-splashed brat. For one who prized courage and bravery in the face of adversity and danger, the Vanner had no clue how she had produced such a coward. And such a tiny coward at that. Completely ignoring the quaking filly, Sati zeroed in on the brush, dark eyes gleaming.

"It seems we have a visitor." she muttered to Firelight, one onyx hoof stamping the dirt. Tangled banner snapped fiercely at her hocks, agitation radiating from her in waves.
