"The fort's being held," he announces in response to the questions. And then he hesitates. "But Dad, what are you doing here?" Finally noticing his surroundings, he fishes for a compliment. "I guess it's nice... the trees are pretty... but it's not home." The colt returns his troubled gaze to his sire. "Are you coming home soon?"


Dias, realizing the private moment, takes the opportunity to glance warily around the small gathering. There was something hanging low over the territory, the stallion felt, that wasn't necessarily good. Not that anything in the dark side was good, but nothing felt so wrong to him. Slowly he blinks, as if by that action he would see clearly what he had missed before. Of course, it doesn't help. He releases an inward directed sigh and takes a step closer to Ballyhara.
