The auburn stallion steps calmly from the cover, allowing his brown eyes to fall first on Navy, then on his Beta Example of Death, and then finally on the colt. The dignified bay dips his head slightly to the newcomer before him.

"Greetings."

The thoroughbred lets the words drop apathetically from his blackened maw.

"Welcome to the herd."

He then adds as a mere after thought.
