The fae reared, flints pawing the air she breathed, then took off at a gallop, banner streaming behind her in the wind. Wind lashed through her tresses as she raced along the terra firma, the only thing keeping her from going full speed the colt at her side. After covering a notable distance her pistons slowed their pumping, drawing her bulk to a halt. Sides barely heaving from her run she whinnied loudly, calling for her mate. What had happened to him? It had been nearly three weeks since she had seen sight of him. She stood stock still at attention, lobes swiveling to capture any sound of Devil's Shadow. Optical lenses searched longingly over the topography of the terra as she hopefully awaited an responding whinny that would tell of her mate.

The colt followed at his dam's side, moving fluidly in a gallop as his long and gangly pillars propelled him forth stride by stride. He did not understand his mother's frustration but he galloped along with her just the same. As they slowed to a stop he looked up at her, noting her slight desperation as she searched for his sire. He moved his bulk closer to her, feeling comforted by her warm presence.
