The light shaded bay walks upon the fallen needles calmly as he navigates his way expertly down gulleys and across rocky outcroppings. He reaches a particular stream and stares at it thoughtfully for a few moments. His unshod hooves then step into it, and the stallion walks up the stream without any further hesitation. The water is shallow, only reaching the horse's pastern, perhaps a shade deeper in areas. It babbles against his feet as he travels on, splashing and clopping, apparantly unbothered by the water's icy temperature. The banks of the stream grow steeper, and gradually they turn to limestone, yet still the ever present and ever green trees tower above. After a good half hour of traversing up the stream, the banks begin to even out. Only a quick leap is needed to return to dry earth and the tree strewn forest. His legs drip with water, as does his belly, although the stallion appears not to mind. Suddenly he halts, eyes squinting through the dim light. In sheer instinct he neighs while his ears flick back and forth. I am free! The thin bloodhorse announces to the silent trees. Another horse would hear, surely.
