Subject: passive scrums

Anyone know what the rules are when;

playing a team (neither of which have a full team or pack) and the visiting team is told by the opposition that there will be passive scrums with contesting hookers. When they quizzed the ref as to how this would affect points, he said it would have no bearing.

There are many other points to consider, such as the fact that the home side had a young side with an apparently inexperienced front row and the opposition was a heavier pack and they would have had to match numbers at 5 in the scrum if contested.

For the record, the home team won. Wondering what the score is in respect to uncontested scrums and game points?!
