So she plays already in school?

Things are far better now than when I was in school, I had to wait until university to have the opportunity to play rugby. I play still and wish I had had the chance at an earlier age.

Rugby for women is such a fast developing game and there will be so many opportunities for young girls that take up the sport earlier on now.

As to any parental concerns over their young daughters playing, structures are in place to ensure that safety is a primary concern. The better prepared and advised they are can only help. By playing from an early age when contact is minimal, is a good introduction to the sport and any contact would be against girls who are equally as undeveloped. This is far better than starting to play later on and finding yourself as a young inexperienced adult playing against experienced women.

As to why you should take her to see a game, well,;

1. It is good to support womens sport
2. It is good to support womens sport in Wales
3. It is a good introduction to senior/contact rugby
4. She may also pick up tips/rules from watching the game, improving her skills when playing.

It is a good game to watch, and far more interesting as a girl, to watch women. There are some good players/teams around who are worth watching.

Club and Superleague matches take place on a sunday and there is an international fixture against the Bristich police in Cwmbran on 20 December in Cwmbran which should be a good game to watch.

If you want details of club/superleague fixtures, check out the fixture list on Gwald or the WWRU website : )

Hope this is what you wanted, if not, any other comments?
