] Date Posted: 03:42:06 01/13/05 Thu We are having a strange winter of extremes in Canada. In Toronto, Ontario, it's 12 C and raining, and out west in Alberta it's -25 C with a wind chill of -39 C. It was -51 C in Saskatchewan last week. Meanwhile, Toronto, Ontario will hit a high of 14 C with rain tomorrow. Luckily, I live in Toronto, where it is warm. However, this morning's freezing rain was treacherous. I saw on the CBC news about the flooding in the UK: in Carlisle and in Scotland. The streets look like rivers and winds up to 160 km/h. Fortunately there's a lull today and a nice blue sky, but I almost wish I drove to work rather than walking and I won't be sorry to be leaving Scotland! (I'm returning to live in England next week).
