No it's not Owain, it is a part of the UK and a part of the EU.

Scotland is in the EU. Like the Catalans are in the EU.

"Scotland just happnes to be part of the UK."

The UK just happens to be part of the EU. Whether you or I like it or not.

And no I'm not what you might term a "Europhile".
