Subject: This lady golfer loves her new 1irons!

My set of irons and woods arrived yesterday, and I immediately took them to the driving range. I worked with the 8 iron as the playability tips said, and had a few really great shots among many errant shots. But I was expecting that the first time out. Most of my bad shots were because I was topping the ball - something I hadn't done in a long time. Went back today with headphones as suggested somewhere in the website, and it was great. You really can't overthink while listening to music, and my body really does know what to do all by itself. I worked up to the longest iron in the set and I know that these clubs will work for me. I had a really good instructor who taught me to use a "ball in the center of your stance" for everything except the driver, so hitting a five iron that way was not a problem for me.

I had been hesitant to order these clubs because of the steel shafts, but that is not a problem. Unlike other clubs with steel shafts I had tried, there was no vibration or stinging with these. They are a little heavier than what I have been using, but the feel of striking the ball properly with them is truly great and I can get used to that. When I unpacked them I thought the grips were way too big, as I have very small hands, but they just feel good.

Thanks for making such great equipment, and also for the newsletter articles. I have started using the "wrist putting" technique, and it is so much easier than what I was taught. I'm making more and longer putts, and what I don't make are a lot better misses than I've ever had before. I've also started using my 8 iron for chipping and pitching and it is such a pleasure to get really crisp, consistent shots with it (says the person who before was at least the runner-up for the worst chipper/pitcher on the planet). I look forward to a couple more range sessions to conquer the fairway woods and then going to the course for some real fun.

I've had my new 1 Iron clubs for a few weeks now, and I still love them. I've added the driver and will be adding the wedges soon. I can truly say that they are bringing back the joy in the game. It is so much fun to be able to land an approach shot a few feet from the pin. I just couldn't do that consistently with my old irons and it was so frustrating. I played an entire round yesterday without blading a single iron shot or chip, and that is almost a miracle to me. Thanks, David, for making such a great product, and for your swing tips that help us to understand how to use that product. And if there are any lady golfers out there who are reading this and wondering if these clubs would work for them, the answer is "YES!".
