Debra,

You will enjoy your driver. It took me three range sessions before I "got" it. You will find it to be both long and precise. There are two pros at the course I most often play. They are both friends, and we play together often. I am even with them in length and accuracy. This was not the case with my former driver (Ping).

Ranjit,

Do a search on YouTube for Tiger Woods' Swing Portrait. Notice how his shoulders move the club on the backswing, and his hips move the club on the downswing. He does not slide forward or backward. He is positioned over the ball throughout the entire motion. Woods' swing is a great example of economy of motion and perfect balance. This is a good thing.

Don't over think. Simply rotate the shoulders on the backswing. Your arms must be absolutely powerless. This is a feeling to cultivate. Let me say this again for effect . . . your arms must be absolutely powerless.

Do not allow the hips to turn on the backswing. In reality they may move a little, but you must cultivate a feeling that they are not moving at all.

On the downswing the hips rotate and your powerless arms make a powerful motion through the ball. The ball will explode off the club face. Your distance is determined by the speed of your hip turn. This is all you need. The pros are using this swing. My favorite swing example is not Tiger's swing. Check out Rory Mcilroy on Youtube. No sway. Perfectly centered. Powerful. Very accurate. I really like how Mcilroy swings. The young players swing this way, because it is simple and effective. Another swing to check out is Anthony Kim.

I know I have not given you a picture of a lateral sway, but this is by intention. Focus on the model. Trust the playability tips. Keep your weight centered. Shoulders back with powerless arms. Rotate your hips with reckless abandon on the downswing as your powerless arms crush through the ball. It's a swing, not a hit.

I hope this helps. David's tools (the clubs) and the swing tips have completely changed my game. I used to be a 12 handicap. Today I played the front nine of my course 2 over par. They were in the process of filling aeration holes on the greens with sand. It was almost impossible to putt. On the back nine a buddy and I played a team scramble against my brother and his friend. We had some good holes and some bad holes, but finished at even par on a very tight back nine. I don't mention this to brag, but only to illustrate that good scores are available. I am no pro, but with the playability tips I have found a reliable swing that works.

Again, hope this helps.

Michael
