Well i have never used and will never use
a win9x os.

All i know, if you want to play an serve, you need
2 diffrent IP's, one external and one internal.
The external IP have to be used by the hosting machine.
Seems like you are doing the opposite..

If you cant setup a proper sharing, buy yourself a router.

Yeah it looks like I will have to buy a router. I set it up the way I do as its silly to have to run two comps just to logon to the internet. Obviously you are going to play with the better comp rather than host with it. Im not a programmer so I dont have a clue how he did it but Frantik somehow got ip4df2 & ip4LW to work with this setup. It just seemed to be able to hook you straight up with any server including your own. Well I guess its router time. Aint computing a pain in the butt ;-).
