"A heart of gold stopped beating, two smiling eyes at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us that he only takes the best."
Mr. Leeonois Pittman Jr., son of Leenois Pittman Sr., and the late Lee Ella Pittman, was born on July 30, 1955 in Halifax County. He attended Halifax County Public Schools and upon graduation he moved to Richmond, Virginia, where he made his home until the departing of his life on December 10, 1999.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his father Leenois Pittman Sr., three daughters, Tara Waggie of Richmond, VA, Cynthia Ruffin of Robersonville, NC, Shirley Jones of Richmond, VA and a daughter he helped raise, Tonya Waggie; 5 grandchildren; 1 brother, Joe Pittman of Scotland Neck, NC; 3 sisters, Gloria Dickens of Hobgood, NC, Mary Anne Pittman and Elma L. Pittman both of Scotland Neck, NC; 4 aunts, 6 uncles, several great aunts and uncles. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special friend, Brenda Cheatham of Richmond, VA.

Lee attended Landmark Christian Center before joining Richmond Christian Center. He was a faithful member and friend and always had a strong verse that would lift even the smallest heart.
Lee as the Richmond family would call him was a loving father, great brother and best friend anyone could have. A devoted worker day and night. He had a love for people that only God could give.
He will be missed but not forgotten, so as we think of him keep your smile upon your heart and never let go it's only the start.
We Love you Lee
From your Richmond Family
But God Loves you best.

There is a dawn after every darkness,
No matter how deep the night;
When the sun comes up in splendor,
Spreading its joy and its light.
So, no matter how deeply we're grieving,
And wondering how we can go on;
We are promised a brighter tomorrow,
When the darkness give way to the dawn.
-The Family-

I love you my brother and you will be missed greatly. You were my mentor. My friend and my role model. You taught me so much and showed me the way to God. If it wasn't for you, I don't know if Jesus would be in my heart today. You lead me through example and encouraged me to do the right thing. You taught me what being a real man was all about. You were always there for my niece, and your daughter, Tara and for that you will always be considered my brother. Regaurdless! I just wish you were here with us now. I know, however, the Lord doesn't make mistakes and it was him who called your name. I just hope I can live to be half the man you were and, some how, pick up where you left off. You influenced me so much. Since I was 9 or 10 years old. The only stable male role model I've ever had in my life. Even now you bring our families closer through love.
I will dedicate myself to your mission, Tara and her future. I know if you were here that is what you would want. You loved her more than life itself and I do too. Because of you, I know what being a real father is. Thanks you, my brother. Thank you for showing me so much. Thank you for showing me how to live and the difference between right and wrong. It was a blessing just to know you. I love you. I hope you like your
page.
