Is this a bad thing? Considering that Mainland China has a big problem feeding her huge population is any loss of population a bad thing? Would not this mean LESS people to feed?

Mainland China could afford to lose thru their deaths half of her population and she would be considerably better off overall as a nation.

So why should they care if people die from tainted food.

And PS one of my pet peeves, subscription required. Sorry but I cannot print the entire article.

July China faces a new worry: Heavy metals in the food.

After decades of industrial pollution, some of the worst contaminants making their way into the China's food come from the soil in which it is grown. Wall Street Journal. [Subscription Required]
