The night has blue eyes
that pierce the darkness
and shadows that aren't clear
nor safe to conjure
for they move in silent parade
to your bedroom window
while you call out your demons
in frantic desire

hunger staring through the glass
at your begging nakedness
with an angry appetite
for your madness
instinctually taking without innocence
the cold pretentious fire
that burns within your breasts
and spreads upon your floor

the Darkangel enters
through darkened cracks made
in walls that echo only whispers
and secret incantations
as you call upon a nightmare
with wings that startle the wind
and bend the light of a full moon
through your curtains

a child of misplaced innocence
knelt beside your passions
and praying in darkness' plight
holding estranged lusts in your hands
offering them to shadows
that prey at the end of your bed
and taking you in the depths
of your candle lit ignorance
