Subject: Alzheimer

I fear waking up one morning
to a simple mind.
With disciplined thoughts
drained through my eyes
on to my pillow,
where the stain
becomes more cognizant than I.
I should only stare
at the complicated design
that was my life,
my thoughts,
and me,
Vaguely recognizing it,
but not comprehending
the measurements.
Bewildered, belittled,
and laughed at in my ignorance
imprinted as some geometrical formula,
painted by some indigenous power.
I with no power,
and now only fear dare alliance,
which ironically
makes me feel aware.
Aware of myself,
my predecessors,
and my benefactors,
who lie in their beds
having sex with the fear
of simplicity that stalks nightly
and draws the word "Alzheimer"
on the pillow.
When In the morning, it is indiscernible
from the tears.
I only wish that I could understand.
What does this mean?
