Subject: When I Am Old

When I am old, I will go for lots of walks
I�ll look at the flowers,
pee my pants,
and go home without remorse, most of the time.

When I am old, I will color my hair white
It is better than grey,
and I won�t look like a fool or 20 years younger
that way, those young girls at bingo will leave me alone.

When I am old, I will drive my blue-green car
in and out of the driveway
I will forget where I was going
and have no bread with dinner for the fourth time.

When I am old, I will visit the neighbors often,
tell them about my day,
pee my pants,
and go home without remorse, provided they answer the door

When I am old, I will wear two pairs of glasses,
one for my left eye,
another for my right.
I will have a third pair, but I won�t know what they�re for.

When I am old, I will forget what it was like to be young
Though, I will dream of it every moment,
pee my pants,
and wonder how I could do such a thing

When I am old, I will play one final game of hide and seek
The best place to hide is the grave
I�ve known this since I was young.
Everyone will look there, but no one will find me.

There will be flowers and neighbors
But, I won�t pee my pants anymore,
neither will I feel remorse.
Then, perhaps, I will not think about being old.
