Often, your reality
Is worse than my insanity
You whisper from a distance
And scream in my ear
I long for the voices
To shut you out
Those comforting voices
Of my insanity
You stare with an expression
That is full of demeaning eyes
I don�t understand your thoughts
I can�t hear them
Yet you scream
Into my empty mind
Longing for voices
To understand you
Those comforting voices
Of sweet insanity
You write your poems
And pin them to my forehead
I close my eyes
And read your thoughtful words
With the many voices
That I long for
Those comforting voices
Of my insanity
Your reality dances
With violins playing
Sad death marches
The notes hanging from my forehead
And I listen to the voices
Singing
Those comforting voices
Of my insanity
Oh, will I awake from this intrusion
Of your reality
Go away and find
Something to eat
Other than my brain
Or my insanity
So say the voices
Those comforting voices
