The hour strikes and bells do ring
The midnight hour is here again
Not a single person walks about
Apart from me I have no doubt

The quiet gives me inspiration
To write of things of irritation
I tend to write to pass the time
But need the peace to make it rhyme

The daylight hours are way too noisy
With barking dogs and kids so rowdy
There’s cars with horns and bikes with bells
And mothers who do naught but yell.

The blissful peace of solitude
Puts my head back in the mood
To write these words on plain white paper
Then I’ll type it up and correct it later

I recognise the feeling in this poem ... I too feel bad tempered with the world at times. Especially as everyone seems to hurtle by and I am left in slow motion. LOL. (J)

Yea that's about the size of it everyone seems in a hurry these days and don't give a damn about anything or anyone. Thanks for critique. (kk)

I especially like this one, for I'm sure, anyone who comes to this site would relate. I often find myself writing when other people are out and about, or sound asleep. I write in class, at home, on the bus, at the bus stop, at my friend's houses, in a corner, under the bed on the floor....etc... Most people think I'm nuts but I need to pour out my anger with the world, which always seems to pass right by me. Especially today. Good one, KK, chalk up another one in your favor!
