Subject: Timeless Spirit Author: kkoala [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 17:23:14 10/12/02 Sat He sits upon his horse, so proud All around his kin and crowd The merriment these next few hours Would be their last for doom it towers They all must ride and face a foe And some will kill standing toe to toe Outnumbered many time to one The knife against the soldiers gun They ride and shot a battle cry For know they all they soon must die The bullet rip, the arrows fly Yet still the Native has to try The White Man came to this their land Tried stealing it by sleight of hand The Native chiefs got wise and vowed To go to war and not be cowed He sits upon his horse, so proud All around the land is ploughed No remnants left of battle done He vanishes slowly, now he’s gone. © Alan G.T.
