The child that lies within my soul
Knows all my hopes and all my goals
Has seen my past throughout my life
Saw all my pain and all my strife
Can reach right in and touch my heart
Has shed real tears when t�was torn apart

This child within I do not know
Yet all my life with me did grow
The pain you�ve seen I want no more
No hurt�s no sorrow evermore
I�m scared at night while in my bed
I still can�t sleep, I�m filled with dread

My inner thoughts fill me with shame
Yet I am not the one to blame
I was so young when this began
From 8 years old defiled by man
I knew not then of wrong to right
My innocence stolen in the night

Oh Please! Dear Lord grant me refrain
That I may start to live again
Take from me this hurt and shame
Release me from my sense of blame
I need to live what life I�ve left
To move right on with no regrets
