Believe in Love
I was born to a Jewish Mother,
And a semi-Christian Father.
I was baptized before surgery,
But Daddy didn’t bother.
We came to America Jewish,
Receiving Jewish Aid,
But I cannot see the Temple
Without knowing they get paid.
I wore my Star of David
Right next to my Cross.
A silly contradiction,
Notices my Boss.
She said, “You must be neither,”
As I looked at her appalled.
But never told me what she meant,
Just sat there, smiled, and stalled.
I was forced into the Christian Club,
Peer Pressure Junior High,
Attended meetings several times
And could not live a lie.
Whom can our children turn to?
These child-molesting Priests
And cocaine-selling Rabbis,
Money-hungry beasts?!
Believe in love, my children,
Salvation, thus, is near.
Have hope and faith within your souls,
And do not live in fear!
