Technically, he was supposed to be on babysitting duty that night so that Cassie could go out and do whatever she pleased for the evening, but somehow he had managed to pawn both Kesi and Siah plus Kalia off on Shay's sister and her friend. Really though, the girls had asked to take Kesi with Kali to the boardwalk, and the charming Josiah could not be left behind - so the group had just left. He had been thrilled by his luck to begin with - not that he didn't love his babies, but dinner with them had been exhausting, and it was warm out, and they were full of energy - but now was left feeling a little abandoned. A quick, cool shower had refreshed him somewhat and he pulled on only a pair of khaki shorts and grabbed a beer from the fridge before heading out to sit on the back porch with a pack of cigarettes and the house phone and his cell. A drink and smoke were sure to inspire him with some ideas about what he could do with the rest of his evening now, and he was one drag in when it occurred to him that he could call his brother... Hadn't seen him in nearly a week after all. But he pushed that notion aside to think on for a bit. If his Cassandra would answer her phone - which she hadn't when he had called her earlier to make sure it was fine that the kids went off - he could beg and plead her to come home and entertain him and his problem would be solved. Once finished with his smoke, he would look into that option...
