Very interesting. Even though that file is so small it would indeed bog down the server with multiple requests per second. I've found most people don't bother with the icons after a while.

Gary, nice to e-meet you. I enjoy Sylvia, and
SurveyGuy, and the others in the Dom Giordano
VoyForum. By the way, you win the prize for
being the first to post here. You can take your
pick of a pair of old shoelaces, or a plastic
spaghetti tong that makes a great back scratcher.
The later is recommended, though I'd hate to give
it up.

Your mention of multiple requests for the
emoticon files is what I was trying to say, and
didn't. Though the files are small, they're being
requested by many different simultaneous posts.
At least, that's my guess. I no longer bother
with the emoticons, either. In fact, I have
disabled them in this forum.

Gary, do me a favor, and check back here once
in a while, or more often. Are you in the Philly
region? Do you listen to The Dom Giordano show?
We need visits to Dom's Forum as well.

Regards,

jay
