Subject: Meter bags designed by IBEW electricians

A few days ago I received the following e-mail. I thought it might be of interest to somebody here and decided to re-post it.

Dear Brother,
I am a retired member from IBEW Local 354. We have designed a couple of
meter bags for use with the volt/ohm meter and 4-20 mA simulators. They are
manufactured in USA (Salt Lake City, Utah). I have received several
testimonials (see below) from Electricians who have used them, saying that
they are very functional and well made. They were designed to be used
without removing the meters from the bag/carrying case. This makes the use
of the meter very versatile and keeps the meter from getting damaged.
Anyone wanting to know more can visit our web site at
http://malynco.tripod.com

We are asking you if you could print out a flyer to post on your bulletin
board. We are confidant that the members of your Local would find these
bags/carrying cases well made and a valuable aid to complement the volt/ohm
meter or 4-20 mA simulators, which are such an expensive investment. Whether
they are buying for themselves or getting their companies that supply the
meters to buy them, they will more than pay for themselves in a short time.
We are including a copy of our
flyer for your convenience. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Clyde A. Snyder

Testimonials about the large bag from BAG Tech

I bought a BAG Tech, electrical meter bag, and I am completely satisfied.
This bag was designed for the working electrical technician by an
electrician/instrument technician. It is durable readily accessible to a
multimeter without removing the meter before using. The meter can remain
in the bag hung on site with the magnet attachment leaving your hands free
to test voltage or continuity. The bag I have has two compartments; one for
a multimeter and the other for another instrument of similar size. I carry
an “amprobe”. If you want a bag
designed to be used in your working environment to protect sensitive
instruments, then I would recommend BAG Tech.

Wow! What a relief to find a multimeter carrying case
and much more, since the first day I put this carrying
case into use I have found not only does it provide a
safe cushion for my expensive Fluke, I also carry a
clamp on ampmeter and my Altek. The magnet has proven
to be very useful in placing the bag and multimeter in
a convenient place to troubleshoot without worrying the
meter might fall. For the price and the extra security
for my gear and the convenience of use I highly
recommend the Bag Tech to technicians and engineers
alike.
Thanks again, Chuck Reed, Carlin, Nevada.

I purchased my bag in September of 2002. I have used it in all different
situations and conditions. I have used it on metal covers and beams, on
pipes and around electrical panels. It has performed very well in every
situation I have come up against. With the magnet accessory, along with the
belt loop and long strap, it can
be placed just about any where; making the use of my meter very convenient.
I would recommend the bag/carrying case from BAG Tech to anyone with a meter
of any value. The convenience of the bag will actually pay for the price of
the bag in a very short time. The fact that the bag comes with a lifetime
warranty against defects in materials and workmanship is actually a bonus
with all the benefits of
this bag. Thank you BAG Tech for this design in a carrying case.
