I have decided to end my fund-raising efforts as far as charity events at Land Rover Club are concerned, I have enjoyed all the hard work put in to raising a great deal of money for various causes, and wish to thank everyone for their continued support over the last 8 years.

I wish to thank everyone who attended, played, or helped in anyway at the events I organised.

During this time I organised a memorial for John Brady.

The John Brady Memorial fund stands at �3630.07

As previously reported on this site the money was to be put towards a bench at the site of Johns fall.

This was not possible due to council issues, and clauses placed by them.

Some of the money was used for a bench plaque at Woodlands Cemetery where John is buried. This was placed around 2 years ago.

Discussions followed about where the money should go, John was helping to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis on the night he died, so it was decided to donate some of the money to this charity cause. Therefore a cheque for �1715.03 will go to Martine Grainger West Midlands Fund-raising Manager of The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

This leaves us with �1915.04.

I have decided to give �200.00 towards the Karen Brady Memorial Concert at The Emerald Club, I think John would have liked that.

After further meetings with people who helped me on the night of Johns memorial I have decided the rest of the money will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care who I have been raising money for since John died. This was to me a poignant thought as a fellow scooterist Kev O'Reilly died in the Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull. A cheque will be sent to Lynn Wood Area Fund-raising Manager for Marie Curie. This will be for the remainder of the money �1715.04.

These cheques will be written sometime this week and posted to the various recipients.

Hopefully once they arrive receipts will be sent to me which I will post on this site.
