bring a family up in. Beaverton, Lake Oswego, West Linn are all quite nice (I know other areas are good as well, but those are what I've had experience with.

All three dance schools in the area have friendly teachers and family-oriented atmospheres. They are competative schools, all with many well placing champs, though not so competative as to forget about their late beginners and adults.

I saw your post on the WR board, though it was removed before I had worked up the courage to reply (it can get quite mean sometimes hehe). I think you've gotten plenty of information from it and I think the best I can do would be to repeat it all, but I will say this...

I really do believe that you'll be content with your choice. :) Portland is SUCH a great city. The atmosphere is really laid-back (at least compared to other major cities) and is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Mountains, the Desert, and the Beach! Many vacation oportunities right outside your door! Not to mention at least 6 Feisanna within a 2.5 hour drive, as well as Vancouver B.C., Reno, Boise, and California comps.

Hope you DO decide to come to Portland!
