Sounds like the kind of player that could help us but we really need shooters.

I haven't seen as many SCU games as you guys but I did get to the USF game at USF and saw the Gonzaga game on TV. I'm sorry but Bailey looks awful. He killed us and he's supposed to be our star. Gonzaga pressed as somebody pointed out they usually don't because Bailey just couldn't handle it. He looks slower than before ... is he hurt? Short, slow and can't shoot is a bad combo for a basketball player.

I would consider moving Perkins to the point and starting Rohe just so Perkins can get the ball more and I think the shooting would improve with Rohe and Rohde and Perkins all out there at once ... too many bodies to guard. Of course, with Davey's tired motion offense it may not matter. By the way, I'm missing Bakari Altheimer quite a bit right now.

Borchardt should play more. As for Neison, he may be imperfect but he looks like our best player - at least of the bigs if not overall. Whats up with Howell and Legge this year? Both have regressed from being quality players to just being out there and not really doing much. Not bad, but not good either ... just there. That's another Davey criticism of mine, his players don't improve much over their 4 years. Todd Wushnig was a better freshman than he was a senior.

As for Gonzaga, I don't care what their ranking is but they are just not that good. The Gonzaga teams of the Santagelo/Casey years were substantially better, as were the SCU Nash/Garnett years. That being said they are better than us and did what good teams do by pulling away to win a tight contest comfortably.
