Subject: Pre pre-season I : LMU Lions Looking Likely ???

this past season LMU seemed to have a penchant for closing fast .... perhaps starting on Dec 13th at Pauley Pavilion when the Lions closed the final 2:39 of regulation with a 19-5 run over UCLA to force overtime ... only to lose in the final 2.8 seconds of OT to a "despartation" three-pointer with zero remaining on the shot clock.

In the next to the last game of the WCC regular season the Lions beat SMC in Moraga (77-76) and narrowly lost to USF (61-66) at the Hilltop ... and finally running out of gas tied at 6:50 left in their final game against Pepperdine in the WCC tourney Quarter Finals

Coach Aggers, the well traveled Laramie Wyoming native, will start his fifth season (2004-05) less two of his most important pieces; Sherman Guy and Keith Kinkaid but with a two year contract extension (through 2007). The former Pepperdine assistant (under Tom Asbury 1990-94) knows about winning in the WCC. During that time he "played a major role" in helping guide Pepperdine to three 20-plus winning seasons, a conference winning streak of 38 games, three NCAA and one NIT tourney berths.

This spring LMU has awarded its last scholarship to junior college transfer Adoyah Evans-Miller (6'5", 205, Guard) from Miami Dade College.

Adoyah joins Vitor Boccardo (6'9", 225, Forward), from Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, Fla. to fill out LMU for 2004-05.

so where does this put LMU versus the League and SCU ????

thoughts ???
