Subject: Denison Global Games Update

put together from the Coca-Cola Global Games Play-By-Play

CANADA vs. CROATIA ...

Sean again seemed to start for Canada pulling down his first rebound during their 4th possession. He appeares to have struggled in scoring having been subsequently fouled in that possession and making one of this two free throws. Three Canada possessions later he missed his first FG attempt. On the next three successive Canada possessions he again missed Canada's only attempt, although Croatia was only able to outscore Canada 2-0 during that period. A few possessions later Sean got a block on 210 cm (6'11") F/C Nenad Delic.

Sean again appears in the play-by-play making his first FG moving Canada into a 29-29 tie (likely in the middle of the 2nd quarter).

Sean's name shows up again late in the game (Canada leading 78-74) when he misses, from the right side of the basket, the first of his two second half attempts. A couple of possessions later at 80-76, he scores Canada's last points off an assist by Kendall. The Canadians barely hold on during the final exchanges of possessions for an 82-81 win over the ever tough Croats, winners over the USA and Lithuania (Canada's two 1 pt losses).

With a deadlock of four (or possibly five) teams at 2-2 for 6th place let's hope the 2-2 Canadians' win over the now 3-1 Croats and close losses to the now 2-1 Lithuanians and 'Americans' who play later tonight will propel them into final round play.

If they move into the game for 5th/6th place it will most likely be a re-match against the loser of the USA-Lithuania contest ... a chance to see if Sean has improved over the tourney

This summer Canada Basketball will host the 2004 Under-21 Tournament of the Americas in Halifax, Nova Scotia from July 28 to August 1. For all the latest information on the tournament visit www.basketball.ca/u21.

University of Pittsburgh forward Levon Kendall (Vancouver, BC) had a team-high 18 points and six rebounds (2 blocks and 4 PF) against the always tough, and previously unbeaten Croatia. He (right) appears to be about the same general build (6'9" 220) as Sean (6'10" 245)(left) but obviously more "toned". Let's hope being around Levon will rub off a little on Sean who had just 5 points, 1 rebound, 1 block and 2 PFs.
