Boards and Bailey -- gobroncs, 23:13:24 12/06/03 Sat
We definitely won this game on the boards out rebounding Montana St 34-18.
By the way on one of these threads Bailey's shooting was criticized as not up to par based on previous years. The fact is that he only shot 38% as a freshman and 35% as a sophmore, so he's not a great shooter. I like it when he passes more as he's a great distibuter and saves his shots for those late game moments when he often seems to come up big.

Borchart Question -- JCARD, 23:33:31 12/06/03 Sat
Marlon, Are you saying that Borchart is shutting down for the season? Is he getting a medical redshirt? BTW, Great win over Montana St. this evening. Niesen had 17 and Perkins is looking like great pickup, having scored 16. As noted below another big rebound game for the Broncos; maybe this team has the depth and toughness to carry this through the non conference and conference season.
Another tidbit... Henke scored 20 in his first game this season, helping his high school upset Minnesota's 6th ranked team in their division.

Re: Borchart Question -- gobroncs, 00:02:23 12/08/03 Mon
I'm wondering about your Borchardt comment as well.
As for this team, 4-2 (I don't count the Holy Names game ... the 4 of us could have beat them) isn't bad given the games we've played. And with some luck we could be 5-1 or even 6-0. Perhaps this team can tough out a good season and JCard is right re Perkins and also Nieson looking like real players. Bailey will improve and can be counted on to produce and lead the team even if he does shoot to much and not well enough. Legge will be OK. Denison looks like a player.
The big disappointment at this point to me is Rohe. I really thought he would be there go-to guy, all conference player and future star based on what he did and how he looked doing it last year. I felt he could lead the team to a conference title over the next few years. But so far he has only been an insignificant bench player and the one game I actually saw (vs. Hawaii) man he looked awful.
