Subject: Sean Denison take from a BC coach

Found this commentary on the BC Basketball website. It's encouraging, especially if he increases his size and strength.

"The more interesting development will be whether a team from the Kootenays can actually win the BC championships. LV Rogers has won every BC championship available to them: the Grade 9 Boys BCıs in 2000 and the Junior Boys BCıs in 2001 and now are they poised to win the 2003 BCıs. The Nelson crew will have to come to grips with their philosophy and the way they treat their big man Sean Denison. Sean, who has been a fixture on the basketball BC Elite program and the Centre of Performance seems to have few credentials when playing with his teammates at home. It seems, in Nelson, that players like to ignore Seanıs imposing presence in the post and that the team likes to run offenses that place Sean as far from the basket as possible. Thatıs been good news for everyone else. But Sean had an awesome summer playing with the provincial team (which I coached) and the national Junior team that went to Venezuela for the Junior Worlds. With a new coach, Dale Dergousoff (a big man who also started provincial basketball on teams I coached in the mid-80ıs), good changes can happen in Nelson and if they do, watch out."

[> More Denison info== 30 point game; tounament MVP -- 805 Bronco, 09:47:45 12/22/02 Sun

Denison was named MVP in the 2002 Prudential Realty Whundas Special Senior Boys basketball Tournament. He scored 30 points in the championship game against Salmon Arm.I'm not sure what that means;I have a feeling no one would confuse BC ball with CIF City Section in LA. Still, he appears to be dominating the competition for the 2nd ranked team in the Province. While I'm not selling this season short, his addition to a healthy roster of this season's Broncos might be promising.
