Re: Scott "We Hardly Knew Ya'" Borchart has Career Night -- Leavey Lunatic, 02:34:59 02/20/05 Sun
Scott put on a great showing today. After all those sugeries and months of rehab, there is no end to his dedication. I wish he could have had a full, healthy tenure at SCU. I think we all would agree that his numbers would have been better then his 11 pts and 7 rebounds.
Gripe of the game: Was the technical on Perkins really necessary at that stage of the game? The reffs were blowing their wistles all game. Couldn't they have let that one slide?

is Scott Borchart leaving early? He is listed as a junior on the SCU website.

Scott Borchart an Academic Senior .. is 'Movin' On -- Bronco66, 13:55:53 02/20/05 Sun
Scott is an Athletics 'Junior' due to his medical red-shirt year ...
Due to graduate this spring (as are ALL the 'seniors' on the squad.)
It is the understanding of the program??? that he is going to be moving on in his academic career ... i.e. Grad School ...
he is a psych major I believe and seems to be an EXCELLENT example of the type of scholar (not just student) athlete that SCU is so very proud of ...
I personally would LOVE to see Scott hang for another year and make his Basketball career complete with an outstanding all-league performance (which I am sure he is capable of) ... I would hope that an All-WCC Tournament selection will be enough ....
Thanks SCOTT for your dedication ... two (or so) surgeries a year for four straight years ... and still willing to go out and play some great basket ball ...
The SEASON is no way over ... have a GREAT end of conference run ... and take it to the TournamentS !!!

Re: Scott "We Hardly Knew Ya'" Borchart has Career Night -- JC, 17:13:32 02/20/05 Sun
We never were able to see the full panoply of Borchart's ability because of his various injuries. He has a nice shot, moves well with out the ball (almost all of his FT's came from backdoor cuts or getting good post position) and busts his a** on the floor but was a lot more agile in HS.A CIF ref friend of mine said Borchart would be a three at the D1 level and expected a sellar carreer for Scott. It would be great to see him be healthy and playanother year unimpeded by injury. Dent's right about Legge, too. Although his offensive game never got where many though it would, he did a very good job on the boards relative to the minutes he played. By the way, dent did you see that Bryant vebaled to SCU; we now have opur own "Undiscovered [Big] Country!"
