He's been listed from 6-8, 280 lbs. to 7-0, 320 lbs. Got the real stats? Can anyone say, "Ron Reis?"
Too bad about Borchart leaving, I saw him taking Legge's minutes next year and adding scoring, inside presence and experience.
Is five scholarship players leaving in one year a record for SCU in last 20 years? That means alot of inexperience on next year's squad...

A bit more ...reprise from the Chron (link) -- JC, 18:18:46 02/22/05 Tue
B.A.,The link contains and article and a picture of Mr. Bryant. Unlike Reis, his arms appear to be of normal length. The article is encouraging, as is the fact he was recruited by Texas Tech and USC. He also played tight end on the football team and was honorable mention all conference, so he has to be somewhat athletic for his size. Anyone seen him play?
Agree about Borchart and that the team'll be very young. Some Jucos who can step in and a healthy Rohe will help.

thanks for the link -- and comments -- Bronco66, 08:13:50 02/23/05 Wed
BroncoAlum ....
from what I heard at the LMU game was that he had recently??? dropped 30? pounds (from a student that perhaps had talked??? to him) .. this would make sense as he might be listed heavy for Football ... and drop some weight for Basketball ....
from the picture it does look like the young man I saw a Leavey ... be definitly more serious ... I thought Linebacker ... but was probably standing a row or two above him ... seemed like the type of put together individual that will flourish on the Mission Campus ...
Now Let's get USD .... and on to the Hilltop ...

Re: A little recruiting 411 -- Bronco66, 18:29:48 02/20/05 Sun
actually the OFFICIAL word from SCU is no word ... remembering the NCAA "rules" the next official signing period is in April ...
at the Bronco Bench Pre-Game chalktalk it was said that the program is pleased as what is happening ... there were rumors that another of the people mentioned on this board was at the LMU game (with his parents) ... and that they all are very nice folks ....
PLEASE REMEMBER that any contact with recruits before they are enrolled??? or *perhaps beyond* is not allowed by the NCAA (unless you are a BCS School car dealer with a phenomoninal deal for someone's girlfriend or uncle or ???)
all SCU has to offer is a phenominal education ... a chance to play great basketball in a REALLY competitive conference (look at the hounds baying at SCU heels right now) and perhaps if you're really lucky some of Mrs. Williams' chocolate chip cookies ... (apparently now that the new AD is in charge we have figured out the legal technicalities of slipping some after-game treats to the coaches and their friends ... )
In any case six schollies and the nucleus of Niesen, Angley, Dennison, Rohe, Parham, Henke, and Dougherty, adding in OK and hopfully Burke and Mr. Neuburger looks like a nice start to 05-06.
It's been a rough road the last couple of years ... I don't think anyone would say different ... but as Coach Seandel said in a recent interview in The Santa Clara
the team is going to have a totally different look next year which will not disappoint the fans.

JCard thanks again for the heads up ...
in case there are others who may have missed it ....
the news was announced in the Chronicle at the bottom of the SCU-LMU write-up
New recruit: Pinole Valley High senior John Bryant was at the Leavey Center on Saturday. The 6-foot-11, 310-pound center decided on Friday that he'll attend Santa Clara in the fall.
