Subject: Excessive fuel

I gota an 85' FL350. When I open the throttle, it sprays fuel from the back of the intake. The carb has been torn down & the needle valve and float have been replaced, all related systems work accordingly. I've tried all the book offers, but no cigar. When the petcock valve is off its runs great, but later dies because the lack of fuel. I'm thinking a fuel level problem in the carb and tried lowering the float level, but still the same. The return lines are clear and work. Prior to the rebuild, it ran fine. Any ideas what I did?
