Leo had jumped from the aircraft, grabbing a parachute on his way out. When he landed, he saw a group of soldiers, about 50 meters away. What he didn't know, was that this was the group that was attacking Akira, Guile and Maniac. Leo readied his M249, and started to close the gap between him and the group. Within 30 seconds, he had closed to 10 meters, undetected. He raised the M249, but that was when he heard the *ka-chink* of a pistol's slide being pulled and released. Leo turned around, and saw imself staring down the barrel of his own .50AE Desert Eagle. At that point, time froze. Must've fallen out when I jumped... he thought. Leo's life then flashed before his eyes. His childhood... meeting Clara... falling in love... feeling the pride of being a father... the torment of losing his family... the hatred that bubbled and boiled in his blood. The man pulled the trigger. The .50JHP round punched a hole in Leo's skull, just above his right eye. The JHP round "mushroomed" in his skull, and blew a 4-inch wide hole out the back of his skull. Bits of bone flew, along with a spray of blood and liquified brains. Leo's head snapped back, but he stayed on his feet. He blinked a few times, the slowly dropped to his knees. The M249 made a clatter as it hit the ground, then Leo did a face-plant. As Leo's vision blacked over, he fumbled clumsily and slowly around his waist. His hand wrapped around the HE grenade, and he pulled the pin. Clara... Jenny... I'm coming home... The life drained from Leo's eyes. Shortly thereafter, the grenade detonated, the explosion causing the remaining 7 HE grenades to blow as well. The fireball blew Leo's killer, and most of his comrades to bits. The explosion stopped just short of Guile and Akira. After the smoke cleared, there were random body parts all around. The only things that proved that Leo existed at all, were his Desert Eagle, and dog tags.
Rest in peace, Leo Sobec. Soldier. Husband. Father
