Saturday, December 28th, 2002 was a wonderful afternoon into the evening. Myself, my friend, Dave from NYC, & our own Wench Lily met up to walk around the town of Salem. We met at the commuter rail station dressed in garb, & then we walked down to a small shopping area and found some of the greatest shops for stuff of the Wiccan religion. We found a store called The Goddess' Treasure Chest. Lily and I bought some oils from there. Then we went further down to a shop called Crow Haven Corner, formerly owned by Salem's favorite Witch, Laurie Cabot. Lily bought some black & purple faerie glitter and gave me some as a Solstice gift. (Thanks Lily!!!)

Then, we headed down to Pickering Wharf & found Laurie's new shop called The Cat, The Crow, & The Crown. It was very Victorian inside, but still carried the Wiccan stuff in there. After hanging down in the wharf area, we decided it was time for dinner & then headed to the Hawthorne Hotel. We did get a lot of looks from people as we walked about the town in our garb, but we didn't care. We got to the hotel, saw the prices for dinner & decided to head back down towards the wharf since we did see a couple of places that were more reasonable for dinner.

After dinner, we made our way back but stopped at a church where a wedding was just letting out. We got to see the bride and groom. The bride had on a beautiful little white fur cape with her dress....absolutely gorgeous. I did
get a picture of them. After the wedding party had left the church, we continued onward back to the train station. Lily & I started singing verses of "Roll Your Leg Over" and then we made up our version of the 12 Days of Christmas - Wiccan Style. We called it the 12 Days of Solstice. It was so funny to make up our version of it.

We took pictures of each other & then said our goodbyes. We agreed to make it a tradition to do every year on the last weekend of each year, unless Christmas falls on a Saturday, then we probably will do it before Christmas. It was so much fun to hang out with a couple of other rennies for a few hours.

So, that's the report....the 2003 gathering will take place on Saturday, December 27th, 2003. Again, meeting at the Salem T stop. We didn't have to pay for parking there either. Huzzah!!
