CotM is very much like SotN, with a couple of differences. First of all, instead of changing weapons, Nathan (your character) has to find these cards that will occasionally be dropped by certain enemies and combine them using a DSS system to enhance his whip or gain other special abilities at the cost of MP. Also, the DSS system is kewl since there're 100 possible weapon/ability combinations and you can do anything from wielding a Rose Sword to summoning the almighty Thunderbird to dish out some major damage to all enemies on screen. Also, the experience is fixed this time around, unlike in SotN where Alucard got less and less Exp. from the same monster as his level increased, though it takes a whole ton of Exp. for the later levels. Finally, the game maintains a consistent challenge throughout, it's a LOT harder than SotN and you definitely need to level up throughout. In fact, even at level 99, all it took was about 5 hits or so from Dracula to kill Nathan. Fighting bosses this time around wasn't a matter of having the right equipment and being at a high level then just rushing in and mashing the attack button, it's all about strategy. I'd say that CotM actually fixed most of the faults found in SotN, easily making it the single best launch title for the GBA.
