A teenaged fox-like animal stepped from the shadows and approached the duo from the right. This fox-like creature was was just over two feet tall and as black as night. Her eyes were the deep emerald green color she had been named for.
This 'fox' was a shape-shifting kituse(fox demon). She growled softly and took a step closer to the pup and faced the cat.
"You're wrong, furball. Some of us who wander the streets have souls that haven't been corrupted by the shadows. She looked down to the puppy with a kind smile in her eyes. "Don't worry little one, there is no shame in tears. It often takes courage to show you emotions."
