Honestly both centers are good and have their pros and cons between the two of them. I am gonna compare and contrast the both of them.

Yao Ming: He is taller than Shaq, He has a better FG% outside the paint and a better FT% than Shaq does, He is more agile up and down the court, His quickness and reaction time, to me, is a step or two ahead of Shaq's.

Shaq: Shaq has the strength advantage over Yao. He is more dominant than Yao. Even though Yao has a better FG% outside the paint, inside Shaq is more consistant and a little bit better than Yao. Also experience plays a big role in it too.

But overall I can't hate neither one because they both are dominant figures on the court. Even though Shaq's been around a little longer and Yao still has some playing to do, they both are an equal match for each other. Shaq proved himself time and time again. Yao has proven and still is proven himself worthy to stay in the league. Thumbs up to both of them
