MAY 31ST, 2002!!
(Sorry it's a little late...computer difficulties)
Ah! May 31st! You know what that means... the two-year anniversary of Bo and Gabrielle's first mutual gesture of friendship, and one of the top gestures of friendship at that. Ah, to think only just that morning she was hugging him in thanks for not sending her to prison for her involvement in the Baby Jack In Mexico fiasco. And if Niki Smith hadn't spilled coffee on her, then she wouldn't have been wearing that pink top and black skirt when she and Bo locked lips for the very first time.
How many people did she have to talk to about not being involved with Bo? Other than herself, let's see... There was Niki Smith. Herself. Al Holden. Herself. And that was just the one day. Later on it was Asa Buchanan, not to mention Max Holden and Claire Baxter. Everyday, for several months. But even Bo Buchanan and Gabrielle Medina themselves couldn't stop themselves from flashing back to that kiss 6 or 7 time a night from late May till early September.
Gabrielle had just been offered a wonderful job... style editor of "The Banner"! It was a nice little kingdom all on its own with two pages in every daily edition and six pages on Sunday. Niki Smith swears that she will whip her into shape... sounds like a pretty great offer right? Right, as long as she moves out of Bo's and has nothing more to do with him. It's a teeny, tiny little nothing, but Gabrielle refuses. After all, she has no designs on him whatsoever, so there's no need for Niki to separate the two. She's only learning about friendship from simply her roommate. And even with eight pages on Sunday, she asks Niki to kindly keep her thoughts and her coffee to herself.
But she sighs as she looks at the current style section of "The Banner". Oh, what she could do with that page, but why doesn't she want to do it? As Bo walks in, she tells him all about the wonderful offer she got with the disgusting condition. And even though their living situation makes for a great sitcom, and even though Bo likes sitcoms, Gabrielle thinks "Viki" really has a point. But it's more than Bo can accept, and he storms out to set things straight.
Since Niki, of course, only offered Gabrielle the job because of her high qualifications, she happily agrees to let Gabrielle have the job -- no strings attatched.
So Bo trots off back to appartment 38 to share the wonderful news with his roommate -- the new style editor of "The Banner". Gabrielle hugs Bo thankfully, and then finally -- the final day of May Sweeps, 2002, in the final scene of the day, Gabrielle gives Bo the biggest gesture of friendship he's ever experienced.
What an accademy award winning episode! How wonderful to see a real attraction begin to errupt :)
No really. Just a gesture of friendship. They do it in Europe all the time. Or at least that's what I hear.

Hey Michy!! Thanks for that recap. It was a really nice read. You remind me about how they did things right with Bo and Gabrielle. They let it build slowly. And everyone in the world could see the attraction, but for those two. What a great pay off that was!! So good and kind of you to remember it. You rock, girl!! Love you lots!!

WOOHOO!!! yay for gabbo! :-D i may not have been here for all of the wonderful episodes but i definitely did catch a few of them! (especially morgue week)and michy has definitely kept me up to date with all of her recitations. :-) i agree with scout it was a wonderful read :-D
