Subject: Gold Rush out-takes

Here is a Chaplin mystery. In his autobiography, Chaplin mentions briefly that in the shooting of the Gold Rush he toyed with the idea of a funny romance between the Tramp and a big eskimo lady, but finally decided to concentrate on the romance with the saloon girl. In the 1969 documentary "The Funniest Man in the World" we see some of these scenes. Since this documentary contains only excerpts from the short films, I assume that these Gold Rush scenes are in public domain. But where are they now ? Is there any more to see ? I saw no other mention of this in any book, as if nobody knew about it. Does anybody know a bit more ?
