Subject: charlie chaplin fathered child

My wife's great grandmother had a child born out of wedlock when she was 16 years old. The child's name was Ivy Binks who died about 6 years ago. She was born just before 1907 as the great grandmother married at that time and had other children. The father of this child had the last name Chaplin. She was born south of London near Surrey or Halstead. Did Charlie Chaplin have any nicknames when he was a teenager? The man who fathered this child went by the first name "Darkie". He may never even have found out that this child was conceived. Charlie Chaplin was born near this area and traveled around a lot of places near London and would have been a teenager at this time, so it is possible that he could be the father. I would like to know if Charlie Chaplin had this nickname of "Darkie" while he lived in England or if he had any other nicknames.
