What England tour squads would you lot pick for Pakistan. Mine would be:

TEST:
Trescothick
Strauss
Vaughan
Bell
Pietersen
Shah
Collingwood
Flintoff
G.Jones
Read
Giles
Swann
Harmison
Hoggard
S.Jones
Anderson

Ten pick themselves and I can't believe they would not be in anyones squad. I'd take Bell because I'm unwilling to believe that one series against a team like Australia is enough to write him off. He has a good technique and deserves to at least be given the warm up matches to put in a few displays. I'd pick Shah for a few reasons. 1)any changes England make to their top six will come in the middle order so openers like Key (wouldn't pick him anyway) and Newman aren't required (injury to Strauss or Tres can be covered by Vaughan). 2)he has international experience and general all round experience that for me puts him ahead of Joyce. 3)he has had a excellent season, scoring heavily and often. 4)i just get the feeling that he is one of those guys who will have figured out what he lacked when picked before and will have made some alterations. Colly would tour as he is the only cover for Flintoff and capable of batting in the top six to boot. Swann because he has had a better season that Batty, is a better bat than Brown, more tested than Panesar and Louden really shouldn't be picked for his pretty ordinary bowling. Udal and Keedy are to old in my mind to really have time to step up and adapt. Read would tour as not only is he the best keepr in the land but has actually had a better year with the bat than Prior, Wallace and Foster. With Anderson I just feel he will be better suited to the conditions and give England more variations on Tremlett though it's a very close call.

ODI

Trescothick
Strauss
Newman
Vaughan
Pietersen
Bell
Flintoff
Collingwood
G.Jones
Prior
S.Jones
Harmison
Batty
Giles
Ali
Tremlett

Vast majority pick themselves again. Bell and Newman back up to the batting, Bell is a better 12th man option than Solanki as he can bowl a few handy overs and he is way ahead of tubby Key. Newman could be destructive and could really push Strauss. Batty has done ok in the one dayers so keeps his place as the 2nd spinner, Prior needs exposure and England need the depth Jones gives so he is a good alternative and is at an age where he has time to really push on (four and six years on Read and Jones). Anderson has cracked under pressure a bit and Tremlett did pretty well in the summer. Ali should tour instead of Gough, though he won't. Gough will not?should not play in the next world cup. HArmison is still a strike bowler of considerable threat and could test more than a few of the Pakistani bats, can't just be about containing all the time.
