Gordon had been wandering around the mansion in a huff for the past few days. The incident with Hayden had sure surprised him. He'd never known that Dorjan had such a hold on his underlings. It was a surprise, and a bad one at that. The vampire had disappeared into various parts of the mansion to explore, and, my, had what he found alarmed him. Not only were the pits much out-of-date, but the kitchens, ballroom, and much of the library were in disarray. After struggling not to do the dirty work himself, Gordon went in search of his friend on the mission to save what was left of much of the unused mansion.

At least, that's what he was planning until he went by the main lobby and felt a ping in his being. Pings were good, mostly. But this one meant that not only was Mayne coming, but his brother as well. Roxle was all well and good for a stud, but the kid just didn't know when to stop. Not only that, but Calder was apparently right at Mayne's heels. And...my, a new addition? And stuck close to Roxle?

The vampire frowned as he neared Dorjan's office and paused before knocking (one of the few times in his long long lifetime). Speaking through the door, Gordon was cautious. "Janny, I have some of my people coming in. I think they can help with fixing some of this place up." He didn't mention that he himself didn't have any idea as to why they were coming.

.. Dorjan had been trying to read - again - that same thing that he never seemed to get anywhere with. There was a struggled sigh that roused itself from Dorjan as he set the book aside once more. With a flick of his mind, the door opened to let Gordon inside. "What is it now, Gordon? Don't tell me you've got another group after you?" He was drawling slightly in his speech, a clear and true sign of his impatience that Dorjan usually only used around Cale. Not good. Cale and Dorjan usually ended up throwing each other into walls. And it looked as if he had been so involved in his book that he hadn't even heard what it was that Gordon had been saying. Really still not good. ..

The vampire stepped into the study, rather cautiously, which was rare. He paused, figuring out that Dorjan had been too distracted to put together what he had said. "I said that I have a group of my people heading this way. A group of four, I think. Two of them are new additions. The other two are siblings of Kuro's so, no doubt, they'll be pleased to see her. I heard she's knocked up, you sly dog." The last statement was added to lighten the atmosphere, if that were at all possible. "You always were quick about things, Dorjan."

Waving away the last train of thought, Gordon continued. "Anyways, I think they'll be able to make a nice addition to the staff right now. That is, if you'll let them stay. After all, I'm your guest here."

.. Dorjan refrained from strumming his fingers along the desktop, but it was a just barely moment. The idea of having slaves that didn't belong to him in his mansion was not something that he particularly liked. However, he wasn't going to just turn Gordon away from that idea. It might have advantages for him, after all. "And if I let you do so, what exactly will I get from it?" He was conniving now, and there were no doubt going to be terms to this too beyond just what Dorjan got. He'd want to make sure that they stayed in their place, under Dorjan and his mansion. ..

Gordon paused, most willing to strike a deal for his secured stay at the mansion. "Roxle, one of Kuro's younger brothers. He seems to need something to keep him in line. No doubt, the other two have probably been traumatized by him." The truth wasn't very far off; actually, if was half right. "I'll need to keep Mayne for his position, and the other two new ones might need some more training. We'll say Roxle for now, and an IOU?"

Gordon was pushing it. But, it was all he had. No doubt Roxle had done something to irritate the other two, and Maybe had had some hand in it. He had known about it, at least. The human would get something fit to his position as a punishment. But, Roxle...he'd need something special.

.. Dorjan listened to Gordon's proposed deal, and for once decided that being a little jipped on this was much better than having Gordon sulk around his mansion for a while. Besides, he could throw Roxle to the hounds and see what it was that the three brothers decide to do with him. That's be worth some entertainment.

"Alright, that'll work. But I do expect that you'll have something good for me in exchange for all of this." Well, that was easy for Gordon. "Keep what's yours to yourself. Your room, the general baths, and the courtyard and kitchen. I want them out of the way of mine and my business." Or, well, not. They didn't get some place to stay except Gordon's room. Which was, granted, a very spacious and grand suite. It wasn't like Gordon needed the attached study, right? "I'll send Koen up with cots and extra bedding for them." Pointed, too. ..

Gordon smiled, happy for the first time since coming to the mansion. He had Roxle out of his hair, and three of his people coming in, with a count on the inventory from his house. "That sounds about right. I'll get on the IOU, once I find a suitable thank you gift. Give me some time to find a perfect speciman and train it, then we'll be even."

The vampire nodded once more and filed the information away. "I doubt there will be any reason to go anywhere else, save to see what Roxle is up to. But then, I'll ask your permission, of course." He backed up to the door to exit. "I'll have everyone check in with you once they arrive, just for you to give the once over." Turning, Gordon opened the door and exited. No good-byes. Wasn't that normal for him?

.. The vampire nodded and made a small noise similar to agreement in his throat. Then he caught himself and spoke up with a sly smirk playing on his face. Gordon was back to being a friend and not a rival again. "Only this time, Gordon, make sure it's male." Dorjan was no longer hesitant about making that clear to Gordon now. A friend indeed.

Dorjan wasn't really given the opportunity to respond to Gordon's last statement, though he would have at this point told him not to bother because he didn't want to be disturbed. Great, just perfect. He was now going to be involved in introductions - just what he wanted. ..
