He was pondering something, with the same sort of curiosity that a lioness would paw at a downed antelope until it finally died of blood loss. He ran his fingers across the palm of the same hand, absently, as if he was simply itching to have something from the armory in his grasp. His mind jumped a bit - he'd have to check the armory now too. Drawing Jaeger from its leather sheath at his belt, Dorjan moved against Kyan again. In two movements faster than a human's heartbeat he had hauled Kyan up and out of the chair, and thrust the long knife through the shifter's stomach.
