Hello. We have just bought a boat they told us is a "kit" boat, Delta from Lombard Illinois. The motor on it is a 1957 Johnson Javelin 35 hp, is original to the boat and looks to be the same one shown restored on the site page. After my husband meticulously cleaned out and sealed the gas tank we were able to get good, clean gas running through it. It is still very sluggish though and the motor doesn't move the boat very fast at all. Anyone know of '57 carb kits. He thinks it needs the carb cleaned or whatever. Also, we'd like to find original color paint for the motor AND if anyone knows anything about these Delta boats, that would be great! We're in Burlington WI.
