Subject: Cold & snowy day

Brr! on a cold and snowy day like this I would have thought this thing would be burning up! Maybe all are huddled up by the fire with a hot cup of something?
It is so strange that I have lived in this area for all of my life (66), graduated from Ashland High School in 1954 and some of the folk that were of that same class and also stayed here never see one another. Ran into a class mate at the KDMC today that I don't think I had seen since 1954 and she lived right here alll the time. Strange isn't it.
Anybody out there had the same experience?
Just throwing out something to think about.
It is hard to imagine that it has been nearly 50 years since walking up those old hollowed out steps of the old building. The younger folk don't realize what they missed.
Eating lunch at Billings store, Mrs. Emmetts back porch, and John Vanderpools Sweet Shop. Wonder what the Health Dept would think about that now?
Remember watching Bobby Thomson hit that great homer for the Giants and winning their way into the World Series at John Vanderpools.
What a great time to grow up.
Any thots out there about the good things of life in Ashland?
