Dustin,

You must be one of those Ashland graduates who thought it was the cool thing to begin rooting for Rose Hill because they have a "star" player. If you didn't attend Paul Blazer High School, then I wonder why you are interested in logging onto this site anyway.

Chris was just stating the facts. Rose Hill, until they prove otherwise, are a very talented group of individuals who seem to "choke" in the BIG game. The Ashland "team" showed that heart and determination can beat all the stars Rose Hill wants to recruit.

Ultimately, it comes down to pride. The word "Ashland" across the jersey means a lot more to the kids who grew up and attended the Ashland school system from grade school on than it does for the word "Royals" across the chests of the kids from Rose Hill who are from West Virginia and other parts of the country. These kids are playing for themselves and their bright futures.

Maybe if the two teams meet again, Rose Hill will concentrate more on beating Ashland than talking trash to the Ashland student section and grabbing their jerseys every time they make a basket. Football Coach Lou Holtz said it best several years ago during a preseason news conference - "When you get in the endzone, act like you've been there before." I guess that statement speaks volumes of the Rose Hill team and their game long gestures and in your face trash talking.

There is no tradition at Rose Hill at this point. The only thing anyone outside of the 16th Region knows about them is they have "the best eighth grader" in the country, who will be playing in West Virginia next year and the fact they have played in a lot of prestigious tournaments but have failed to bring home the championship trophy in any of them, including the All A Classic.

Don't blame Dicky Martin for Rose Hill's tendency to "choke" when it matters the most. Talk to Coach Jeff Hall about doing a better job of coaching and recruiting.

I do admire your passion to root for a school that you probably didn't attend. Hopefully, we'll get to see Rose Hill vs. Ashland one more time this year. As always, they seem to be classics.
