Subject: dress code of 60's
In reply to: Jonathan E. Wright (Class of 1971) 's message, "PGBSHS student dress code in the 1960s" on 22:08:36 08/25/03 Mon

basically - different era. jeans were not a
big thing. in my senior year -grad in '71- they
started allowing girls to wear slacks - not jeans
if the temperature got down to 32 or something.
this was to help keep the attendence up and cold
and flu down. 1st period i worked in ms hamm office (girls coun) and if girls wore jeans or if
the temp wasn't low enough they were sent home
to change. i now live in bowling green KY, and
there are many restrictions now on dress. but
then you also have to consider that oxford cloth
shirts, bass loafers, etc. are classics!
